Learning how to make credits in Star Wars: The Old Republic (SWTOR) is not as hard of a task as it might seem. In this guide, we show you all the best strategies.
The fastest way to make credits without taking advantage of crew skills primarily revolves around farming a legacy-wide material called Tech Fragments.
No matter which character in your legacy acquires Tech Fragments, they will be accessible for use across all your toons until spent.
There is no level requirement to farm Tech Fragments, which means you can do any kind of activity that rewards Tech Fragments to save up for them.
Selling OEM-37 / RPM-13
Hands down, the easiest and most painless method for farming credits in SWTOR 7.3+ is from selling OEM-37 and/or RPM-13 on the Galactic Trade Network (GTN).
Even after the recent efforts from BioWare/Broadsword to curb economic inflation in 7.3, these exotic crafting materials sell for over 20 million credits each on average.
You can purchase them for 4,000 Tech Fragments each from the Spoils of War vendor in the Supplies section on your faction’s Fleet.
They are so in demand because crafters need them to make item level 300 Superior Augments, which is necessary to reach the hard gear cap of 339 on your character.
Operations
The best way to farm the Tech Fragments needed to purchase OEM-37 and/or RPM-13 is by running Operations. You’ll average about 2,000 Tech Fragments per run on Story Mode (SM) from total boss drops and even more if you run Veteran or Master Mode!
Completing Weekly Conquest
Each of your characters will receive the following rewards for the completion of their weekly personal conquest (100,000 points):
- 500 Tech Fragments
- 25k Credit Certificate
- 200 Conquest Commendations
There are solo and multiplayer objectives you can complete to amass the 100,000 points necessary for weekly personal conquest.
However, it’s recommended you join a guild because if your guild reaches its conquest goal, each of your characters will receive an additional 300-500 Tech Fragments for the week just for logging in!
Galactic Starfighter
If you enjoy dogfighting, you can pick up the weekly GSF quest to run 4 matches for 850 Tech Fragments, with wins earning you 2x points towards the objective.
- [DAILY] Galactic Starfighter – Complete 2 Starfighter battles (wins count x2).
- Reward: 150 Tech Fragments
- [WEEKLY] Galactic Starfighter – Complete 4 Starfighter battles (wins count x2).
- Reward: 850 Tech Fragments
If, for some reason, you lose each game, you would have to run up to 20 matches before acquiring the material worth 100 million credits.
Warzones & Arenas
General PvP in SWTOR is divided between Warzones and Arenas, and both have daily and weekly quests you can accept for the purposes of farming Tech Fragments.
Completion of the Daily PvP objectives awards 300 Tech Fragments each.
Completion of the Weekly PvP objectives awards 2000 Tech Fragments each.
- [DAILY] March Them Down – Warzone objective. Complete 3 matches (wins count x2).
- Reward: 300 Tech Fragments
- [DAILY] Arena of Death! – Arena objective. Complete 6 matches (wins count x3).
- Reward: 300 Tech Fragments
- [WEEKLY] The Spoils of War – Warzone objective. Complete 12 matches (wins count x3).
- Reward: 2000 Tech Fragments
- [WEEKLY] Go Berserk! – Arena objective. Complete 24 matches (wins count x3).
- Reward: 2000 Tech Fragments
Flashpoints
Flashpoints are story-based dungeons that reward Tech Fragments for each boss downed (30 on average) as well as from completion of daily and weekly objectives:
- [DAILY] Group Finder Bonus – Complete 1 Flashpoint for the day with Group Finder
- Reward: 125 Tech Fragments
- [WEEKLY] Searching For Allies – Complete 3 Random Activities with Group Finder
- Reward: 300 Tech Fragments
- [WEEKLY] Veteran Flashpoints – Complete 3 Veteran Flashpoints with Group Finder
- Reward: 100 Tech Fragments
- [WEEKLY] Galactic Conflicts – Complete 2 Master Flashpoints with Group Finder
- Reward: 200 Tech Fragments.
Heroics
If you’re short on Daily Resource Matrix to upgrade your gear but also want an easy way to farm Tech Fragments and credits as a solo player, consider doing Heroic missions.
You can either pick up Heroic missions in the Combat Training section of your faction’s Fleet or from the SOLO tab of the Activities window. Here’s what the average quest and weekly reward look like:
- [HEROIC 2+] The Lanar Question
- Reward: 30 Tech Fragments, ~28k Credits, 3 Conquest Tokens
- [WEEKLY] Heroic Missions: Alderaan
- Reward: 40 Conquest Tokens, ~8k Credits
Heroic missions are repeatable quests you can do every day originally designed for 2+ players, but with a Companion set to healing, you can easily solo all of them. They also allow you to teleport instantly to each one regardless of where you are. However, the teleport has a long cooldown once used.
Some Heroic missions take far longer than others to complete. Here are the fastest Heroic missions you can run to quickly farm Tech Fragments and credits:

The best zone for dailies is the tried and true CZ-198. This area is available to both factions, and all quests plus the weekly can be completed in about 10 minutes.
