There Is No Parasite Time Limit in BG3
Fortunately, there is no time limit on the parasite in Baldur’s Gate 3. Although there is an urgency to address the situation, most especially from the visits by your Dream Guardian, you are not playing on borrowed time.
Players have reported there are no apparent downsides to time-wasting activities, Long Resting, or dawdling. You will not randomly spout tentacles. As far as the story goes, you are not in major danger yet.
While there is no parasite time limit, you do have the option to embrace its powers and become an Illithid. However, there are story consequences to making this choice.
There Are Other Time Limits
While there are no crunches on the octopus curse in your head, Baldur’s Gate 3 does have other time limits, most especially around quests.
For example, taking a Long Rest prior to an event you just encountered, may result in an NPC being killed and unavailable.
