Zelda TOTK – How to Make Sticky Elixir

zelda totk how to make sticky elixirs

In this guide, you will learn how to make Sticky Elixirs, which allow Link to improve his grip on wet/slippery surfaces in Zelda: TOTK.

The good news is that Sticky Elixirs are quite simple to craft, needing only one of two specific Critters and the choice of any monster parts.

How to Make Sticky Elixir

To create Sticky Elixir, players need to combine either a Sticky Lizard or a Sticky Frog along with any monster parts in a cooking pot. The elixir’s effect duration is directly influenced by the number of monster parts used in the recipe, but the effect itself is unchanged.

Sticky Elixirs can be crafted in any Cooking Pot or through the use of a Zonai Portable Pot. Players may also discover Sticky Elixirs inside treasure chests across Hyrule and inside Shrines.

Where to Find Sticky Frogs and Sticky Lizards

  • Sticky Lizards are found in caves and tunnels across Hyrule, both above and below ground. Sometimes, they can be found skittering about in Shrines.
  • Sticky Frogs are found near bodies of water, including ponds, lakes, and inside caves within the regions of West Necluda and Lanayru Great Spring.

To capture critters in TOTK, players need to crouch and move slowly towards them. Otherwise, they may get startled and run away.

Use the sound meter displayed near the minimap to ascertain how much noise the player is making as they approach. When close enough to the critter, a prompt appears allowing them to capture it.
