Netflix officially confirms Season 3 of The Witcher series will be happening, and it will release in Summer 2023.
The exciting news was first announced on Tudum, an annual fan event that is comparable to Comic-Con but for Netflix. Although no specific date was confirmed, we did get to gaze upon a new teaser image. This shows off a Wolf Medallion, representing Geralt, and a swallow, representing Ciri, his adopted daughter.
Officially, the plot summary of Season 3 sees Geralt taking Ciri into hiding in order to protect his daughter against forces that threaten to destroy his family. Yennefer takes the group to Aretuza, a fortress, where she plans to learn more about Ciri’s untapped abilities.
Given that we have seen bird and wolf symbols on the artwork for Witcher: Blood Origin, it’s very possible that the prequel series will connect to Season 3 later this year. Furthermore, Tudum had a brief interview with actresses Anya Chalotra (Yennefer) as well as Freya Allan (Ciri).
While neither could disclose too many details, Chalotra teased that there was a scene where Ciri and Yennefer go head to head and have much to learn from each other.
