WoW Players Can Receive A Recap Of Their Warcraft Journey With A Tweet

Using inspiration from the Warcraft Twitter community’s passion for lore, players can take a step back and observe their accomplishments throughout their journey.

In advance of the upcoming expansion, Dragonflight, Blizzard is teaming up with Twitter to provide players a nostalgic look at the innumerable adventures their characters have embarked on over the past 18 years.

It only takes a single tweet. Beginning today, players that want to take part in the experience need only include the name of their character, their server region, and realm, and include #WarcraftStory and @Warcraft in the tweet.

Next, the Warcraft and Twitter API will automatically find and compose a full history of that character, sending it back to players in the form of a reply to the original tweet to the player.

The various stories shared with players include a revisit to their best achievements and details outside of stats. By continuing to reply to the first tweet, players can unlock additional stories. Those that create tweets will receive a notification on Twitter as soon as the Dragonflight expansion releases later this year.

Through conducting research on more than 16 years worth of WoW conversations on Twitter, the platform created the #WarcraftStory promotion. Blizzard has also created animated shorts that delve deep into the history of the dragons in the Warcraft universe to remind players of the lore ahead of time.

Twitter is not the only way Blizzard seeks to promote World of Warcraft: Dragonflight before the November 28 release. For the very first time, players can earn WoW items via Twitch Drop through the online streaming platform.

One particular reward is a rare dragon mount, once worth thousands of dollars and only made available through the official World of Warcraft Trading Card Game. Now, this mount, known as the Feldrake, will become available to nearly every player, causing some commotion amidst the community.

The first phase of the pre-patch to WoW: Dragonflight is out, having introduced major changes to the UI, along with a full revamp of the talent system. Phase two of the pre-patch starts November 15, introducing the Primal Storms pre-patch alongside the new playable Evoker class and Dracthyr race.

World of Warcraft is available for both PC and Mac. Dragonflight represents the 9th expansion to the long-running MMO that was first released in November 2004.
