Twitter Rebrands To X – What Does This Mean?

twitter rebrands to x

Elon Musk is rebranding Twitter and its logo to “X”, marking the latest major revision since the Tesla CEO’s takeover of the platform. What does this shift to X really mean?

It’s been public knowledge for some time that Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla Motors and SpaceX, has wanted to make an all-in-one everything application under the title of X. Twitter is now officially part of that integration.

The website X.com now redirects to Twitter. If you try to access Twitter this way, the bird logo will change to an X. What’s more, loading screens now reveal the X logo.

For the design of the logo, Elon chose one submitted by the “fan” community after requesting ideas for the new app’s identity.

Furthermore, X.com is a representation of AI technology, which Musk is embracing along with most other tech entrepreneurs. The acquisition of Twitter was Musk’s first step into his vision for the everything super-app.
