According to Craig Mazin, the co-creator of The Last Of Us TV Series, the show could last as much as 3 to 5 seasons long.

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Mazin confirmed there are still many seasons left for the Emmy-nominated live-action adaptation of the award-winning video game series. Mazin continued to reveal that the character of Abby has been chosen, but casting announcements have been currently put on hold due to the strike. He’s confident that unions will win the fight.

When questioned whether or not Season 2 will include 10 episodes or follow the previous season with only 9, Mazin denied both rumors and simply said that they’ve “laid out [the] vision for HBO for how this series should lay out across not one season, but multiple seasons.”

Mazin does not know how many seasons the studio plans to make for the show, but he thinks that “four seems like a good number” as “some seasons…will need fewer episodes and some will need more.” While not wanting to put a number on it, he went on to confirm that The Last Of Us Part II “does not fit into one season.”

The Last Of Us is a post-apocalyptic drama TV series developed by Neil Druckmann and Craig Mazin for HBO. Based on the 2013 video game by Naughty Dog, the first season premiered on January 15, 2023. The show stars Pedro Pascal as Joel and Bella Ramsey as Elle.
