The Day Before, a highly anticipated zombie shooter that launched via Steam on December 7, was widely criticized for failing to live up to expectations as an MMO.
Bugs, lack of originality, and intentionally slow progression system resulted in the developer, Fntastic, abruptly announcing its shutdown as the game “failed financially”. This is even though the game had sold more than 200,000 copies before refunds, as reported by PC Gamer.
Fntastic said, “We did everything within our power, but unfortunately, we miscalculated our capabilities.” Since the studio’s shutdown, it has removed all trailers of the game from its YouTube channel.
Those who paid for the unpleasant early access are quite livid. The good news is that Steam offers a two-week window to refund any titles purchased on the platform, so long as the game has been played for less than 2 hours.
Some comments on the subreddit suggest that players could get refunds even after playing beyond 2 hours.
If you own a copy, visit Steam Help, go to “Purchases”, click on The Day Before, then pick “Gameplay or technical issue” under “What problem are you having with this product” to process your refund request.
