Complete 1P Classic Mode using Mario on any difficulty/stock with no continues. Alternatively, you can just complete 100 VS. matches.

Complete 100-Man Melee mode. Alternatively, you can just complete 300 VS. matches.
Ganondorf
Complete Event #29. Alternatively, you can just complete 600 VS. matches.
Jigglypuff
Complete the game in 1P Mode (Adventure or Classic) on any difficulty/stock. Alternatively, you can just complete 50 VS. matches.
Luigi
Complete the first stage of Adventure Mode with a ‘2’ in the seconds digit of the clock (e.g., 03:52:44). Alternatively, you can just complete 800 VS. matches.
Marth
Complete 1P Classic Mode with all 14 regular characters (no unlockables). Alternatively, you can just use every character in VS. Mode at least once. Alternatively, you can just complete 400 VS. matches.
Mewtwo
Play VS. Mode for at least 20 hours. Alternatively, you can just complete 700 VS. matches.
Mr. Game & Watch
Complete either 1P Classic Mode, Adventure Mode, or Target Test with all other characters (including unlockables). Alternatively, you just play 1,000 VS. matches.
Pichu
Complete Event #37. Alternatively, you can just play 200 VS. matches.
Roy
Complete 1P Classic Mode using Marth on any difficulty/stock. Alternatively, you can just play 900 VS. matches.
Young Link
Complete 1P Classic Mode with ten different characters on any difficulty/stock. Alternatively, you can just play 500 VS. matches.
Stages and Features
Battlefield Stage
Complete All-Star 1P Mode for the first time.
Big Blue Stage
Play and complete at least 150 matches in VS. mode.
Brinstar Depths Stage
Play at least 50 matches in VS. mode.
Dream Land Stage (N64)
Complete the Target Test with all characters (including unlockables).
Final Destination Stage
Complete all 51 Events.
Flat Zone Stage
Complete 1P Classic Mode on any difficulty/stock using Mr. Game & Watch.
Fourside Stage
Play and complete at least 100 matches in VS. mode.
Kongo Jungle (N64)
Complete 15-Minute Melee. It helps to use Donkey Kong, and spam is Down+B the entire time.
Mushroom Kingdom II
Collect a Birdo trophy (random find).
All-Star Mode
Unlock all hidden characters (including Mr. Game & Watch).
Events #30-39
Unlock Luigi, Falco, and Young Link and beat Trophy Tussle 2.
Events #40-50
Unlock all hidden characters (including Mr. Game & Watch).
Event #51
Complete events 1-50.
Yoshi’s Island (N64)
In the Home-Run Contest, use Yoshi to hit over 1,350 ft. / 400m. Stand close to the Sandbag, jump, and ground-pound around four times until the bag reaches 100%+ damage. Grab the bat, and Smash hit the bag to send it flying.
Sound Test
Unlock all characters and stages by completing all 51 events.
Trophies
NOTE: Certain trophies cannot be won through the Snag Trophy/Lottery mini-game. Below is a complete list of said trophies and how to unlock them.

Cheats
