According to a now-deleted post by Optimum TV, it seems like you’ll be able to stream The Super Mario Bros. Movie as early as May 16. Even though the film just came out in theaters last month, it appears to be coming to your home devices sooner than you thought.
Pre-orders for UHD, HD, and SD versions of the film are already listed on Amazon, and they’re $30 regardless of version. As of the time of this post, no rental options exist. Yet, there’s a decent chance that Peacock will likely have the film ready by August. This is due to the fact that all Universal movies are included on the streaming service within four months of theatrical distribution.
Given the subject matter, it’s not surprising that The Super Mario Bros. Movie broke multiple records within just a few short weeks of releasing to theaters. Some examples include grossing over $1 billion in sales and becoming the highest-grossing video game movie ever made.
