During the latest PlayStation State of Play showcase revealing the highly anticipated action game, Stellar Blade, director Hyung-Tae Kim answered questions regarding cosmetics and accessories.
The game, made by developer Shift-Up, will feature 30 outfits for the protagonist as well as hairstyles, earrings, and glasses. According to Kim, all of these cosmetics will be unlockable in-game without additional purchases.
In Stellar Blade, humanity is forced to flee to an off-world colony by an enemy known as Naytiba. The protagonist, Eve, is a member of the seventh airborne squad and trying to save the planet. She is aided by companions Adam and Lily. A character named Artemis, a member of the fifth airborne squad, provides upgrades to Eve’s equipment throughout her journey.
Xion is a city built by the last survivors of humanity. Eve is regarded as an Angel by local residents, looked upon with both fear and awe. You can camp at various points around the world to heal and upgrade her abilities. Xion is also connected to semi-open world areas including the Great Desert and Wasteland, which both encourage exploration. Eve must search for Hyper Cells to restore Xion to its former state of glory.
Gears and Exospines are other items used to acquire SP XP, skills, and cosmetics. The game’s soundtrack is almost exclusively composed of vocals and choruses.
Stellar Blade releases on April 26, 2024 for PlayStation 5.
