The concept of marriage is not new to the game, but getting married to another player in Stardew Valley is different from the single-player mode. Though single and multiplayer both allow you to marry, steps and marriage candidates vary with the modes.
How to Get Married to Another Player in Stardew Valley
You can marry other players in multiplayer mode, along with NPCs. However, in single player mode, you can only marry NPCs.
How to Marry in Multiplayer Mode in Stardew Valley
To marry in multiplayer, you have to propose to another player with the Wedding Ring.
Accepting and rejecting your proposal depends on the other player, so make sure that player is ready to marry you, or the materials you spend on the ring will get wasted. To get the Wedding Ring and marry another player follow the steps below.
- Go to the Traveling Cart in the Cindersap Forest.
- Check the items Merchant is selling and buy the Wedding Ring recipe from it. The recipe costs 500g.
- Now you can craft a Wedding Ring to marry another player in Stardew Valley. The recipe requires one Prismatic Shard and five Iridium Bars. You get Iridium Bar from Iridium Ore.
- After crafting the Wedding Ring, give it to the one you want to marry.
How to Marry in Multiplayer Mode in Stardew Valley
To marry in single player, look for the unmarried character, check from the social tab if it says “Single” then you can approach them. Once you have found the perfect single character, you can start bonding with them by offering gifts and items they prefer.
At level 8 of friendship, you must offer that person a bouquet bought from Pierre’s General Store for 200g. When your friendship level reaches 10 hearts, you receive a letter from Mayor Lewis.
The letter gives you information about the Mermaid’s Pendant and how giving it to someone is equal to asking for a hand in marriage. The Mermaid’s Pendant is bought from Old Mariner and costs 5000g. Give the pendant to the one you wish to marry and get a spouse.
