Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes (SWGOH) is coming to PC with a better framerate, higher resolution, and cross-save functionality.
According to Game Informer, the team said, “We have been able to double the frame rate to 60 fps, added anti-aliasing, and implemented higher resolution settings so that players can take advantage of the power of a high-end PC.” The layout of the game’s UI has also been adjusted for the PC version.
SWGOH debuted exclusively for mobile devices back in 2015 and has stood the test of time as a quality Star Wars gaming experience. It offers a gacha-like experience in which players engage in turn-based battles against iconic heroes, villains, and army units across the galaxy from far, far away. Powering up your favorite characters featured in both Legends and Canon material allows you to customize teams any way you like.
Players have taken measures over the years to emulate the game on PC, but this release will be official. In addition to improved visuals, the popular strategy RPG will feature keyboard/mouse support as well as keybinds. As of the time of this post, there will be no controller support, however.
Longtime players can link their mobile account to their EA account while playing on PC for the first time, and all future updates will be released on both mobile and PC platforms at the same time.
The PC version will receive beta access for current mobile players in May prior to expanding to a larger audience. “For those interested, they can head to the Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes website, sign up for the EA App, link their account, and they are now ready to register. There’s a dedicated registration page that can be found on the website the day registration begins! For those selected, you will be receiving an invite via email for access to the Closed Beta.” Learn more here.
