The Star Wars Battlefront Classic Collection which includes the original two games developed by Pandemic Studios and LucasArts was released last week to horrible reviews. This has resulted in the title plummeting to the bottom of Steam user ratings with an “Overwhelmingly Negative” grade.
Aspyr released the first patch that brings major fixes, changes, and tweaks to the collection. Some fans have argued that the update took work done by a modder without giving credit, according to GamesRadar, despite stating that the game will not feature “code or content that is taken from uncredited sources.”
The allegation of theft comes from iamashaymin on Steam, who said that the mods made for the original PC version of Battlefront II were featured in the Switch and PS5 versions of the collection on release, but that the studio “patched them out quickly.”
The footage was captured before the release of the patch, and the modder claimed that one of their works was put into the PS5 version, in which Aayla Secura was reskinned as Asajj Ventress, a character only playable on Xbox.
Ventress Doesn’t Have OG Animations

One of the most glaring clues included the different attack animations, which were shared on Reddit. When this was discovered by Iamashaymin, the modder responded by saying “It should be noted that I am not credited on this version or any version of the Classic Collection.”
Iamashaymin took to X to call out Aspyr for allegedly copying their work, explaining how they found their own mod files by datamining the game.
