The Star Wars Battlefront Classic Collection was just announced and introduces the original 2004 and 2005 LucasArts games to a new generation.
These games include Star Wars Battlefront (2004) and Star Wars Battlefront II (2005). They will be arriving on modern systems including PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. There is also confirmation for Steam Deck support. They feature restored online play for up to 64 players, additional content for Hero and Assault mode, and all past-released bonus content.
For the first time ever, Hero Assault is playable on all ground maps including Death Star, Kashyyyk, Kamino, and Naboo.
Despite the fact that EA rebooted the original duo of games with Star Wars Battlefront (2015) and a sequel, Star Wars Battlefront II (2017), the reliance on aggressive monetization via micro-transactions and loot boxes caused major controversy in the gaming community.
