Venom plays a major role in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. Depending on fan feedback, a spin-off game may happen down the line, says Senior Narrative Director Jon Paquette.
When questioned by Insider about a Venom game comparable to Spider-Man: Miles Morales (2020), Pacquette said “we’re focused on Spider-Man 2, and what we’re gonna do is we’re gonna wait to see how the fans react. We’re gonna listen to the fans and we’re gonna ask ourselves, ‘Okay, what do the fans really want?'”
Paquette clarified that the developer, Insomniac Games, needs some rest and relaxation. He said, “we’ll kind of talk about stuff after we’ve all had time to sleep and take vacations.” An update for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 will include New Game Plus along with mission replay.
As for what’s next at Insomniac, the studio is allegedly making an M-rated Wolverine game that could arrive in fall 2024 at the earliest.
Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is an action-adventure game developed by Insomniac Games and initially released in 2023 for PlayStation 5.
