Break Attack

Press: L1 / LB

Break Attacks nearly stun opponents. While they can still block after guarding a Break Attack, you have a good chance of hitting them first. Break Attacks also interrupt Reversal Edge attacks, causing significant damage to the Guard Gauge. Block a Break Attack too many times and you will be temporarily stunned.

Critical Edge

Press: R2 / RT

The Critical Edge is known as a Super Attack. With at least one full bar of meter, you can execute the move, inflicting significant damage.

Movement

Press: D-Pad / Left Stick

Press the D-Pad or Left Analog Stick at any angle to move in up to 8 different directions.

Reversal Edge

Press: R1 / RB

Reversal Edge allows your character to quickly fill their Soul meter and evade attacks (except for Break attacks). After releasing the button, your character will begin an attack animation that will cancel if hit. If the Reversal Edge hits the opponent, you’ll enter a mini-game.

Soul Charge

Facing Opponent to the Right – Press: RT / RB + Left
Facing Opponent to the Left – Press RT / RB + Right

You need a full bar of meter prior to executing this ability. The Soul Charge allows you to enter a special state to access unique abilities and attacks that vary by character.

Throw

Forward – Press: L2 / LT
Back – Press: Back + L2 / Back + LT

Throw your opponent forward or back. Most characters are also equipped with special Command Throws performed with a specific button combo. You can break a Forward Throw by pressing any attack button or the Throw button. Additionally, you can break a Back Throw by pressing any attack button or the Throw button.
