Sonic x Shadow Generations is a remake of 2011’s Sonic Generations, complete with a brand new story campaign for Shadow.
The franchise celebrated its 20th anniversary in 2011 with Sonic Generations, which remakes various iconic and fan-favorite zones from the hedgehog’s past in both modern 2D and 3D versions. This title became one of the most beloved of the current era, and we consider it in the top 5 greatest ever made.
During the January 2024 PlayStation State of Play, Sega announced a remade version of Sonic Generations, called Sonic x Shadow Generations.
Sonic x Shadow Generations remasters the game for modern systems but brings numerous enhancements. In addition to remastered levels, Shadow is now included as a playable character with new levels exclusively made for him.
From screenshots, it looks like Shadow’s campaign features the return of Black Doom from the 2005 origin story and will delve further into the character’s past.
The game launches this fall for PC, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4.
