Fans of the blue blur can rejoice, as there is plenty of free DLC coming to Sonic Frontiers in the near future. SEGA has now revealed its content roadmap for the game that will expand the experience throughout 2023. Currently, the road map is divided into three major updates.
The Sights, Sounds, and Speed Update
Release: March 22, 2023
Update 1, known as the Sights, Sounds, and Speed Update, includes a jukebox feature with collectible songs from the series past, new challenges modes to test your mettle, and a new photo mode.
The Birthday Bash Update
Release: June 23, 2023
Update 2, known as the Birthday Bash Update, is a celebration of Sonic’s 32nd year. It includes all new open-zone challenges and new Koco collectibles.
By completing the various timed challenges newly spread across Starfall Islands, players will finally be able to unlock the spin dash for Sonic.
The Final Horizon Update
Release: September 28, 2023
The main course of the DLC will take place during Update 3, which will be adding new story content and additional playable characters in the form of Tails, Knuckles, and Amy Rose, who will each have their own unique skills for use in exploration and battles. It remains unclear if they will be playable in the main overworld or just the Cyberspace levels.
While you sit tight and wait on this new content, you can get an awesome Monster Hunter armor outfit as part of a free collaboration that came out on November 15, 2022. What’s more, there is a free Holiday Cheer Suit that came out on December 21, 2022, which provides Sonic a more festive look as he races through the Starfall Islands.
Sonic Frontiers was released worldwide on November 8, 2022. The game is available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
