SEGA has said that film adaptations of its major franchises like Persona and Yakuza/Like a Dragon are possible.
In an interview with CNBC, Chief Operating Officer Shuji Utsumi said that SEGA is looking to continue the Sonic the Hedgehog film franchise by growing the reach of other series.
Utsumi also mentioned Persona and Yakuza/Like a Dragon when discussing franchises it could expand. “But also, as I say, we are trying to be in a lot of different kinds of business areas, like Roblox, movies. All these IPs can be somewhere else other than games soon.”
Persona 5 Tactica is the latest entry in the Shin Megami Tensei spin-off franchise, launching on November 17. What’s more, Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name is launching on November 9.
