Early Sunday morning, a bucketload of assets for Rockstar Games GTA 6, including screenshots and pre-alpha footage, were leaked to public Internet forums.
These assets were reportedly stolen straight from the developer’s servers by a single individual going by the alias teapotuberhacker. This individual also claims not only to have source code but a complete “GTA 6 test build.”
Leaks have been confirmed to be real as of today by Rockstar Games and Take-Two as stated on Twitter.
Teapotuberhacker was going as taking public requests to showcase parts of the game right from the source code on Reddit.
Videos confirm the presence of a female protagonist, a first for the whole series, passing through a strip club in addition to a male character shooting at ongoing police traffic. Another video shows off both characters working together to rob a local diner.
We’ve known that Grand Theft Auto VI is in active development, as confirmed by Rockstar Games in February. However, the hacker has made it abundantly clear that they want to negotiate a deal with the AAA open-world developer after the leaks.
