Respawn Is Making Another Titanfall Game, But Not By Name

Respawn is working on a new game in the Titanfall series, but it won’t be called Titanfall 3, according to reports.

VGC claims that Titanfall game director Steve Fukuda is leading a team behind a new game in that universe. The report continued by saying that the game has progressed further in development beyond early prototyping and is considered a “real project.”

Fans of Titanfall have been waiting years for a potential sequel to 2016’s Titanfall 2. It was reported that Titanfall Legends, which would have mixed elements of Titanfall with Apex Legends, was canceled by EA.

The original Titanfall (2014) was Respawn’s first major release after numerous developers from Infinity Ward departed to start a new company. The game was a big success that spawned a sequel, Titanfall 2 (2016), but this would become the final entry before Respawn changed focus on Apex Legends and its various Star Wars projects, most notably the Jedi series of games.

Discussions regarding the studio’s next game come not long after EA laid off hundreds of developers to reduce costs. They also canceled the upcoming Star Wars FPS from Respawn. Fortunately, the odds look good that they will succeed in producing a sequel to Jedi: Survivor (2023).
