Director Quentin Tarantino always said he would make ten films in his career. Now his final motion picture, The Movie Critic, is revealed.
This filmmaker is behind some of the most bloody, gruesome, and violent films of the past three decades, such as Pulp Fiction (1994), Reservoir Dogs (1992), and Once Upon a Time in Hollywood (2019), to name several. However, The Movie Critic represents the script title that Tarantino recently wrote and is set to direct this fall, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Initial reports claimed that the story of The Movie Critic focuses on a highly influential film reviewer known as Pauline Kael (1919-2001). Tarantino has since denied this. While it does take place in the late 1970s, he’s said it’s about an unknown male critic and not a revenge tale.

This job coincides with the setting of The Movie Critic and its script, as Tarantino has a lot of respect for Kael, making the odds of her subject of the film more likely.
Currently, the project has no studio; it’s likely going to buyers soon. Sony is projected to be a major frontrunner due to Tarantino’s close relationship with Tom Rothman. The Sony distribution of Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, a multi-Academy-award winner, put Tarantino in a unique position to reclaim the copyright over time.
His reasoning for setting his career at the cap of ten films or reaching 60, both of which will be happening this year, is his philosophy that aging takes away a director’s artistic touch. Despite his retirement from this field, he has expressed great interest in directing plays or limited series. Recently, in 2021, he published his own novelization of Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.
