Unlockables

Alternate Title Screens

Clear the Gym Leader Castle, Stadium, and Vs Rival modes to unlock two extra title screens. One of them features Meganium, Typhlosion, and Feraligatr with Legendary Beasts in the background. The second features Lugia and Ho-Oh.

Amnesia Psyduck

Register all 151 Pokémon at the Hall of Fame.

Doduo and Dodrio Game Boys

Doduo Game Boy allows you to place a specific version at double speed. Dodrio Game Boy allows you to play Red/Blue/Yellow at 4x speed or Gold/Silver/Crystal at 3x speed. After unlocking, press C-RIGHT to change speed.

The game will not explicitly tell you when these unlock, even though they do.

Extra Continue

Beat any trainer on any cup without any of your Pokémon fainting to acquire an extra continue for when you lose a battle.

Farfetch’d (Baton Pass)

Complete the Rival Cup for the first time. This is a rare and powerful Pokémon.

Gligar (Earthquake)

Complete the Rival Cup (Round 2) for the first time. This is a rare and powerful Pokémon.

Harder Mini-Games

Challenge the CPU opponents to a Hard seven-coin Mini-Game battle. This unlocks Super Hard difficulty.

Infinite Continues (Glitch)

Enter any battle and win the match. Then, suspend the gameplay. Pick a Stadium Cup and get at least one extra continue. If you lose the battle, you can suspend the game (you will be notified one has already suspended). When it appears, choose “Continue without Suspending”. This will let you rematch the Trainer without a lost continue.

Kanto Gym Leaders

Defeat the Elite Four in Johto.

Magnemite (Fire/Electric)

Place either a Gold, Silver, or Crystal GB game into the Transfer Pak. Start it up, then go to Oak’s Lab. Put a Magnemite into storage. By default, it is Electric/Steel. Turn off the game, and insert either a Red, Blue, or Yellow game into the Transfer Pak. Go to Oak’s Lab and redownload the Magnemite. Save, turn off Stadium 2, then load the 1st gen game. The Magnemite should now be Electric/Fire.

More Knowledge at Pokémon Academy

Finish all classes, pass all tests, and win all school battles (beating the Elite Class). This unlocks additional information at the Library, including all items from the GB Pokémon games.

Rent Celebi and Mew

Unlock Round 2 by defeating all trainers in Gym Leader Castle, taking care of your rival, and beating all cups in Stadium Mode. Note: Celebi and Mew can only be rented in Prime Cup.

Rival Cup

Defeat all trainers in Gym Leader Castle and complete all Cups in Stadium Mode. This unlocks the Rival Cup, accessible from the lower right-hand corner of the main map. Click it to fight against the trio of Mewtwo, Ho-Oh, and Lugia.

Trading

You need two game cartridges, some captured Pokémon, the N64 Transfer Pak, and Pokémon Stadium 2.

  1. In Pokémon Stadium 2, go to the Pokémon Lab.
  2. Go to the PC and select Pokémon.
  3. Change to one of the N64 Boxes.
  4. Place the Pokémon you want to trade in the N64 box.
  5. Save, quit, and turn off your N64.
  6. Put the GB Pokémon game in the Transfer Pak.
  7. Repeat steps 1, 2, and 3, then place the Pokémon from the N64 box into your party.
