The Paldea region represents the ninth generation of Pokémon, and despite all the new features and the Spain-like setting, the core mechanic of version exclusives remains. That means there are Pokémon unique to Scarlet that you cannot get in Violet, and vice versa. If you’ve gotta catch ’em all, you will need to trade with someone.
Pokémon Scarlet Version Exclusives
Armarouge (Scarlet)
Armarouge is a Fire/Psychic Pokémon that uses a suit of armor from a reputable Paldean warrior. It shoots fireballs from its arms, using the psychic energy contained within its suit to augment its abilities.
Brute Bonnet (Scarlet)
A cross between a mushroom and a dinosaur, Brute Bonnet is a Grass/Dark Pokémon.
Cramorant (Scarlet)
Cramorant is extremely gluttonous. Occasionally, it makes a mistake and tries to swallow a Pokémon other than its preferred prey.
Cranidos (Scarlet)
It lived in jungles around 100 million years ago, with a skull as hard as iron.
Deino (Scarlet)
Deino is a Dark/Dragon Pokémon that dwells inside caverns, eating anything that moves.
Dragalge (Scarlet)
Dragalge is the final evolution of Skrelp and uses liquid poison to attack enemies wandering into its territory.
Drifblim (Scarlet)
Drifblim is the final evolution of Drifloon and generates gas within its body to control its drift and altitude.
Drifloon (Scarlet)
A floating signpost for wandering spirits, Drifloon is a force to be reckoned with. Children who mistake it for a balloon should beware.
Flutter Mane (Scarlet)
This Pokémon bears a striking resemblance to a ghostly pterosaur, but other than that, little is had in common.
Gliscor (Scarlet)
Gliscor is the evolved form of Gligar, observing prey while hanging inverted from branches. When the chance presents itself, it swoops!
Gligar (Scarlet)
Gligar is a Ground/Flying type Pokémon that evolves into Gliscor, flying straight and its target’s face then clamps down on the startled victim to inject poison.
Gouging Fire (Scarlet)
It resembles an eerie Pokémon once shown in a paranormal magazine. That Pokémon was said to be an Entei regenerated from a fossil.
Great Tusk (Scarlet)
This Pokémon bears a striking resemblance to an entity that has lived since ancient times.
Hydreigon (Scarlet)
Hydreigon is the final evolution of Deino and Zweilous. This three-headed floating beast is ferocious, but only the central head comes with a brain.
Koraidon (Scarlet)
Koraidon is Pokémon Scarlet’s Legendary. Its appearance reflects that of an ancient relative of Cyclizar. Despite its tire-looking chest, this Pokémon runs on all fours with the protagonist trainer on its back.
Larvitar (Scarlet)
This little reptilian Rock/Ground type Pokemon made its debut in the Johto region featured in Pokémon Gold and Silver. With a blunt spoke, a short snout, and black markings, Larvitar tends to live in caves, hills, and mountains.
Ninetales (Scarlet)
The Alolan regional variant of Ninetales, an Ice-type, is obtainable in Pokémon Scarlet. Certain legends claim each of its tails have its own unique type of special mythical power.
Oranguru (Scarlet)
Oranguru lives a quiet life in the forest depths. The purple fur extends the more this Pokémon ages.
Pupitar (Scarlet)
Pupitar is the “pupa” state of Larvitar before fully evolving into Tyranitar.
Raging Bolt (Scarlet)
It bears resemblance to a Pokémon that became a hot topic for a short while after a paranormal magazine touted it as Raikou’s ancestor.
Rampardos (Scarlet)
Rampardos is the evolved version of Cranidos, and has a skull that can withstand impact of any magnitude.
Roaring Moon (Scarlet)
This Pokémon has a connection to a phenomenon that occurs in a certain region.
Sandy Shocks (Scarlet)
This Pokémon appears similar to an ancient Magneton that lived for ten thousand years, but no record exists of it ever being caught.
Scream Tail (Scarlet)
Having only one reported sighting in its history, this Pokémon depicts a creature found in an old expedition journal.
Skrelp (Scarlet)
Skrelp is a poor swimmer and evades its enemies by drifting and hiding in seaweed. It eats the rotten bits to create poison.
Skuntank (Scarlet)
Skuntank evolves from Stunky and also sprays a smelly fluid from its tail. Attacks from above confound it.
Slither Wing (Scarlet)
This Bug/Fighting Pokémon appears similar to Volcarona in an ancient form.
Stunky (Scarlet)
This Poison/Dark type Pokémon evolves into Skuntank, and sprays a foul fluid from its rear.
Stonjourner (Scarlet)
Stonjourner is a massive Rock Pokémon that debuted in the Galar region, exclusive to Pokémon Sword, and represents a Stonehenge. It walks on large boulders that it uses to kick its opponents.
Tauros – Fight/Fire Type (Scarlet)
Tauros has many regional variants. In the Paldea region, it comes in two variations, including Fighting/Fire and Fighting/Water. This Pokémon excels at close-quarters combat.
Tyranitar (Scarlet)
Tyranitar is the final evolution of Larvitar and Pupitar, a large Rock/Dark Pokémon that causes earthquakes with each step it takes.
Vulpix (Scarlet)
The Alolan regional variant of Vulpix, an Ice-type, is obtainable in Pokémon Scarlet. As it grows, the tails split and form more tails.
Walking Wake (Scarlet)
Appearing as a distant cousin of the Johto legendary Suicune, the Pokémon known as Walking Wake is a Water/Dragon type that can only be obtained from an event or transferred from HOME.
Zweilous (Scarlet)
Zweilous is the two-headed evolution of Deino, complete with likes and dislikes. Both heads fight one another so the whole package gets stronger without the need to rely on others.
Pokémon Violet Version Exclusives
Aipom (Violet)
Aipom lives atop tall trees, and when leaping from branch to branch, it deftly uses its tail for balance.
Ambipom (Violet)
Ambipom is the evolved form of Aipom, and it is commonly found in large trees, sayid to communicate by connecting their tails to those of others.
Bagon (Violet)
Bagnon made its debut in the Hoenn region of Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire, called the “Rock Head Pokémon.” Similar to Larvitar, it creates a cocoon during its evolution.
Bastiodon (Violet)
When attacked, this evolved form of Shieldon forms a wall.
Ceruledge (Violet)
Ceruledge is a Fire/Ghost-type Pokémon. Its dual blades are made from ghost and fire energy, which morph into massive swords during fights.
Clauncher (Violet)
Clauncher’s mighty claws will launch water through gas detonation, and they’ll regrow when detached.
Clawitzer (Violet)
Clawitzer passes through the water at up to 60 knots using internal gas to expel water from its back claw.
Dragapult (Violet)
This Pokémon is the final evolution of Dreepy and makes its body transparent by focusing and clearing its mind.
Drakloak (Violet)
The first evolution of Dreepy, this Pokémon stores energy in its lungs and then propels it out. It battles alongside its younglings until they are grown and strong.
Dreepy (Violet)
Even if it doesn’t actually feed on them, Dreepy is liable to bite Claunchers. Groups of Dreepy are known for flying at high speeds across the ocean.
Eiscue (Violet)
Eiscue is an Ice type Pokémon that debuted in the Galar region, exclusive to Pokémon Shield. In the event of any damage taken, the broken ice cube will reveal its face.
Iron Boulder (Violet)
It resembles a Pokémon described in a dubious magazine as a Terrakion that had been modified by an evil organization.
Iron Bundle (Violet)
It resembles a robot from an old book, and there have been only two reported sightings in the history of this Pokémon.
Iron Crown (Violet)
It resembles a mysterious object introduced in a paranormal magazine as a cutting-edge weapon shaped like a Cobalion.
Iron Hands (Violet)
Resembling a cyborg said to be modified from a certain athlete, Iron Hands is a debatably more powerful version of Hariyama.
Iron Leaves (Violet)
The Pokémon known as Iron Leaves is a Grass/Psychic type that can only be obtained from an event or transferred from HOME.
Iron Jugulis (Violet)
Iron Jugulis is a Dark/Flying type Pokémon that is written as the offspring of a Hydreigon that got involved with a robot.
Iron Moth (Violet)
Iron Moth resembles an unidentified object sent to observe humanity, and there are no records of it ever being caught.
Iron Thorns (Violet)
This Pokémon has many notable features that resemble Tyranitar in a particular expedition journal.
Iron Treads (Violet)
This Pokémon has been seen in recent years, closely resembling Donphan.
Iron Valiant (Violet)
This Pokémon bears many similarities to Gallade, as indicated in a certain expedition journal.
Gulpin (Violet)
It can digest practically anything and expels vile gasses when doing so. Gulpin is tiny, with a small brain and heart.
Miraidon (Violet)
Miraidon is Pokémon Violet’s Legendary. Unlike its Scarlet counterpart that travels on all fours, Miraidon turns into a motorcycle while the protagonist trainer rides on its back.
Misdreavous (Violet)
A dreary entity that loves biting and yanking people’s hair without warning, Misdreavous is most active in the middle of the night.
Mismagius (Violet)
Mismagius is the final evolution of Misdreavous that makes an incantation-sounding cry.
Morpeko (Violet)
Morpeko carries electrically roasted seeds in its pocket-like pouches. Beware, intense hunger drives it to extremes of violence, turning its cheek saces into Dark-type energy.
Passimian (Violet)
If you find yourself in a brawl with Passimian, watch out for its hard berries. It doesn’t obey trainers who fail to throw Poké Balls with skill.
Salamence (Violet)
Salamence is a Dragon/Flying type Pokémon and the fully evolved version of Bagon.
Sandshrew (Violet)
Sandshrew evolves into Sandslash, and this Ice/Steel type Alolan regional variant is available in Pokémon Violet.

Shelgon (Violet)
Shelgon is the initial evolution of Bagon before it fully evolves into Salamence.
