The Kanto region represents the first generation of Pokémon, and the core mechanic of version exclusives was introduced during this time. That means there are Pokémon unique to Red that you cannot get in Blue, and vice versa. If you’ve gotta catch ’em all, you will need to trade with someone.

Pokémon Red and Pokémon Blue are role-playing games developed by Game Freak and initially released in 1996 for the Game Boy. A third version, Pokémon Yellow, was initially released in 1998 for the same system. Finally, enhanced remakes known as Pokémon FireRed and Pokémon LeafGreen were released worldwide in 2004 for the Game Boy Advance.
