The same leaker who revealed details surrounding Persona 3 Reload and Persona 5 Tactica is now discussing new info about Persona 6. This individual is none other than Twitter user MbKKssTBhz5, who has now shared a thread about the exciting upcoming project.
MbKKssTBhz5 starts off by making it clear that the new core entry in the Persona series will feel very different due to it being developed by a new team.
It has been publicly confirmed knowledge for years that the team who worked on Persona 5 is not the same group working on Persona 6. The official name of the internal development branch at Atlus known for the Persona series is none other than P-Studio.
P-Studio is under new management after the departure of series director Katsura Hashino, who led the development of Persona 3, Persona 4, Persona 5, and all related spin-offs up until 2016.
According to the leaker, the best way to describe what fans can expect out of Persona 6 is “P3RE and spin-offs come together”. The team working on Persona 3 Reload and its related spin-offs is also involved with Persona 6.
Furthermore, the leaker went on to claim they have only seen it running on PlayStation 5. Given the series being ported to so many consoles in recent years, the chances are good that Persona 6 will be a timed exclusive. Eventually, though, it will probably arrive on other systems including the Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
The project is likely codenamed Carbon as the element Carbon is sixth on the periodic table. MbKKssTBhz5 believes that Atlus has a window of release in mind and the company will officially announce Persona 6 alongside a new spin-off next year.
