Pals have unique Partner abilities that can be unlocked by crafting a specific item for them. These Partner abilities are not available for every Pal.
How to Unlock Pal Abilities in Palworld
In order to craft items unique to certain Pals, you must first craft a Pal Gear Workbench at your base. It requires the following resources:
- 30x Wood
- 2x Cloth
- 10x Paldium Fragment
After crafting a Pal Gear Workbench, you need to unlock the specific item for the Pal who has a special ability. One of the earliest examples includes Foxpark’s Harness, unlockable at Technology level 4.
Once the item is crafted, it goes into the Key Items section of your inventory. You access the item (which unlocks the Partner ability) using your Pal.
How to Use Pal Abilities in Palworld
Add the Pal with the special Partner ability to your party. Then, choose the Pal, and release the Pal from the Sphere to walk beside you.
The correct button to press varies depending on your system and controller. Here are the different combinations.

- Xbox: X
If you have unlocked the right item, you will see the Pal Partner Ability available at the bottom of your screen when the Pal is out.
