Players on Reddit are sharing success stories after earning Invincible’s Reins during this week’s WoW Timewalking event, running from October 8, 2024 – October 15, 2024.
Invincible is the steed of Prince Arthas Menethil, the Lich King. It is a mount so prestigious that many players who collect mounts as a hobby have been running the 15-year-old Icecrown Citadel raid every week for over a decade on multiple characters to have a chance to loot it from the Lich King’s corpse, typically to no avail. The default drop rate (according to Wowhead) is 0.78%.

However, thanks to the Wrath of the Lich King (WotLK) Timewalking event running this week during The War Within expansion, players on Reddit have been reporting a far higher-than-normal chance of earning the mount. The prize is actually coming out of the Cache of Timewarped Treasures quest reward which is earned by doing the Timewalking version of Ulduar, an earlier raid released during the WotLK expansion.
To obtain the quest, players simply need to visit the WotLK version of Dalaran, accessible from each faction’s portal room in either Stormwind or Orgrimmar and acquire the Disturbance Detected: Uldura quest from the NPCs standing near the fountain with statues. Then, players simply need to use the Group Finder function to find groups running the old raid. Only the final boss needs to be defeated to complete the quest, allowing groups to skip most of the raid and head straight to Yogg-Saron to save time.
