Niantic, the developer of Pokémon GO, has now successfully integrated the hit augmented-reality (AR) mobile game with Campfire, its social app. The functionality is now available for use within GO.
Campfire lets players with Niantic accounts to collaborate and complete tasks, mark points of interest, etc. Pokémon GO trainers can now access Campfire to find local and remote raids while also designating regions in which rare Pokemon appear for others to catch.
Furthermore, Campfire is also introducing the new Team Up feature, which lets players join and host raids within the same menu instead of simply relying on raid invitations.
This integration comes right on time, as it directly coincides with the much-anticipated Pokémon GO Fest 2023, taking place in August. The live in-person event will take place across three different cities from around the world, including London, Osaka, and New York City from August 18-20. An additional in-game event is scheduled for the following weekend from August 26-27.
Pokémon GO was originally released in July 2016 for iOS and Android devices. It is available for free as well as Campfire.
