In a recent blog post on the official PlayStation website, Naughty Dog, reflecting on the PC port of Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves’ Collection, stated that the core focus for the company is still PlayStation 5 games.
It’s no surprise that Naughty Dog desires to focus on its audience on PlayStation, as they have been a subsidiary of Sony for more than 20 years, and most of the developer’s lineup of games have been exclusive to PlayStation platforms during this period of time.
However, with the Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves port and the upcoming PC port of The Last of Us Part I, Naughty Dog has made it clear that it wants to give PC gamers love and attention. The company has stated that this is a critical strategy in how they release games going forward.
Naughty Dog also mentioned in the blog post that it is using Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End and Uncharted: The Lost Legacy as the first PC ports because the Uncharted series is a natural fit.
Due to the amount of retrofitting that would be necessary to bring the older games to modern standards, Naughty Dog instead opted for porting later releases first.
