Motordoom Indie Game Is Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater Meets Doom

motordoom

Motordoom is an upcoming indie title from Hobo Cat Games in which you perform over-the-top tricks on a motorbike while mass shooting waves of demons. It combines the roguelike shooter gameplay seen in Vampire Survivors and the stunt mechanics of Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater in one glorious, gory package.

The developer briefly posted on Twitter showing off a masked rider grinding and flipping while shooting red floating demons in mid-air. Similar to THPS, the player will see their current combo score and a long list of trick names displayed at the bottom of the screen. Kills are added to the chain of combos.

It seems as though the game will also feature RPG progression mechanics as the biker eventually levels up, acquiring new upgrades and abilities from a set of cards. This gives you more devastating attacks to pull off, as the biker eventually fires off a series of massive lightning bolts, then breezes their way through a fog of blood.

Graphically, the game looks like something you’d find on the original PlayStation, but with more objects on screen than what the classic console could render at the time. The level is far bigger but less populated than seen in the Tony Hawk games, but it’s got a similar arrangement in that lines are easy to find, and jumps are plentiful for combos.

Although Motordoom is set to release in 2023, you can add it to your Steam wishlist right now. The other game in the developer’s portfolio is Hobo Cat Adventures, which appears to be inspired by Conker’s Bad Fur Day (2001).
