Where to Find Every Metroid Dread Suit

In Metroid Dread, there are four different suits you can acquire for Samus. Each of the suits has its own attributes and abilities. The right suit will work for certain scenarios, but others are in more hard-to-find places. Although you will eventually find the suit you need, it helps to know where to look ahead of time.

Metroid Dread (2021) is exclusively available on Nintendo Switch.

Metroid Dread Power Suit

You will begin with the Power Suit from the start of the game. It is available by default. This suit closely resembles how Samus looked in Metroid Fusion, the preceding game chronologically, with blue and white colors.

The Power Suit provides no special abilities and is the base form. You cannot enter areas of freezing temperatures or extreme heat with this on.

Metroid Dread Varia Suit

In the game, the first suit you can unlock is none other than the classic Varia Suit, which has appeared in earlier entries of the series. This provides Samus with improved defense from enemy attacks and heat resistance.

With the Varia Suit, you can enter rooms with high temperatures, which is necessary to complete the game. It also appears similar to the original red, orange, and white suit that Samus wears.

Find this suit early on in Artaria. You will need to fulfill several pre-requisites before acquiring the Varia Suit:

  • Unlock the Morph Ball by defeating the E.M.M.I. in Catarsis.
  • Teleport from Catarsis to Artaria. You will spawn close to the suit’s location.
  • Make your way through various rooms destroyed by explosions and fire.
  • Enter the room with the Chozo Statue containing the Varia Suit upgrade.

Metroid Dread Gravity Suit

The Gravity Suit is another step up, thanks to improved damage resistance and the ability to travel through rooms with freezing temperatures as well as lava.

Furthermore, the suit allows Samus to traverse underwater without any reduction to speed. Finally, it provides a boost to dash melee damage.

Find the Gravity Suit on Burenia. Here are the directions to reach the south room to claim it:

  • Travel west of the area with Space Jump.
  • Travel southeast and destroy the block for the Grapple Beam. This creates a path.
  • Move to the bottom left hand corner of the chamber. Space Jump to get to the missle door. Open and enter the following chamber.
  • Find the Chozo Statue and shoot at the orb to receive the Gravity Suit.

The last outfit is none other than the Metroid Suit, which you receive automatically at the end of the game. Once you defeat Raven Beak, the fortress will collapse, and Samus will realize her true power.

This gives her access to the Metroid Suit, which features a natural look. The suit provides increased power and defense in addition to a powerful beam.

You can only use this suit during the last portion of the story. There is no way to use it after the game concludes.
