Finish the Masterwork Weapon Quest Walkthrough – BG3

Players can acquire the quest, ‘Finish the Masterwork Weapon’, by visiting the Blacksmith’s House in Blighted Village and finding the Highcliff’s Journal. The rough coordinates are X: 32, Y: 43 near the fireplace.

1. Read the Highcliff’s Journal and it will mention a blueprint necessary to make the masterwork weapon.

2. Go to the next room in the building and destroy the floor covered in Calcified Web, then jump down.

3. When you get down, Disarm the wooden chest to the left to open it without activating the explosive. If you choose to lockpick, you must roll a 10 to pass the Sleight of Hand check. It helps to use a character with high Dexterity.

4. Open the chest to get Highcliff’s Blueprints.

Optional step: before leaving, climb up the ladder and open the chest to acquire Infernal Iron, which is needed for Karlach’s companion quest.

Next, you will need to get bark from the Sussar tree to make the weapon.

5. Go to the Underdark and head west towards the Sussar Tree. The rough coordinates are X: -15, Y: -140. Climb the Knotted Roots to get there.

6. Press and hold the Alt-key to highlight items.

7. Grab the bark, then return to the Blacksmith’s House in Blighted Village.

8. Use the Furnace to craft your desired weapon. Remember, you can only do this for daggers, greatswords, or sickles.

9. Click the Furnace to start it then click the Bellows to strengthen the flames. Add the Sussar Tree bark to the Furnace, which turns the flames blue. Lastly, add the weapon you want to upgrade.

After the cutscene, the quest completes and you will have your weapon upgraded.
