You don’t have to get first — or even get a trophy — in said race. You just need to make sure you’ve cleared it on 150cc. A trophy or checkmark will still show on the main cup/rally selection screen even if you’ve only completed it on a lower cc, so make sure to check each cup/rally individually to make sure you’ve done this. Complete 10 P-Switch challenges in Free Roam. These switches are just about everywhere, so roaming around a bit should net you 10 fairly quickly. After you clear one area out, you can just teleport to another one to find more. Find 10 “?” panels in Free Roam. Each area has five or 10 of these to find, and they’re usually in the “main hub” of the area, rather than on the side/connecting streets. Make sure to look on walls for them, too. Collect 10 Peach Medallions in Free Roam. There are also quite a few of these around the map, though they’re not as common as the above two collectables in our experience. Lots of them are tucked behind obstacles requiring you to wall-ride or grind on rails, but there’s also quite a few in open locations. Clear the Special Cup on 150cc. You may have already cleared this cup by this point, but you will need to do it again to unlock Mirror Mode by triggering the game's credits scene. Like the other cups, you don’t have to place or win, you just need to clear it. To activate a mirrored map in Free Roam, you can warp over to Peach Stadium and follow the track up and jump on to the roof of Peach’s Castle. Enter the iconic stained glass window of Peach and it’ll warp, sending you into a mirrored version of the map. You cannot do this in the pseudo-Free Roam multiplayer friend lobby, but selecting mirror mode races will flip the map for everyone. Unlimited Coins Just like in Mario Kart 8, players can easily manipulate the game's AI system to farm unlimited coins in Mario Kart World. If you're playing Mario Kart World, you'll likely be unlocking a steady stream of new vehicles simply playing the game as you normally would — progressing through Grand Prix Cups, Knockout Tour and hunting down challenges in Free Roam. All in all, there are 30 karts to unlock on top of the game's basic eight vehicles. Every 100 coins unlocks a new kart, so you'll need 3,000 coins to nab them all. It's not a particularly tall order, but that hasn't stopped fans from immediately trying to maximise their Mario Kart World time to get everything even quicker. Load into Free Roam from the game's main menu, fast travel to the Boo Cinema, and turn around to see the coin stack to your left. After collecting, simply reload the game and repeat the process. For something less labor intensive, other fans recommend parking up at Toad Factory, behind the conveyor belt which continually spits out a stream of coins and item boxes. It's going to take some time to collect individual coins this way, but as an AFK method when you wouldn't otherwise be playing the game... it works. Finally, if you enjoy chilling in Free Roam while actually driving, keep an eye out for the coin cars which toss out coins behind them as they drive. You'll need to follow these vehicles fairly slowly to collect the currency it drops, but as an activity to cool off from a heated few Knockout Tour matches, it's quite relaxing. After unlocking all of Mario Kart World's 38 karts, players are reporting still receiving stick rewards for milestones at 18,000 coins and beyond. But beyond stickers, there does not seem to be any reason (yet) for continuing to farm coins beyond the 3,000 mark. Mario Kart World is a racing game developed by Nintendo and released in 2025 for Switch 2.
