Tips & Tricks
Turbo Boost on Race Start
At the start of a race, wait until the second light flashes, then hold down on the gas. This will give you a turbo boost on ‘Go’ and easily shoot you to first place.
Farm Coins Fast
You can farm Coins rather quickly in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe without even playing the game. However, it will require the use of two Joy-Cons.
Begin by selecting Multiplayer > 2P > VS Race. Pick any character and vehicle combination for the two players. It’s recommended to use Mario and Luigi as they have good speed/acceleration.
During vehicle customization, ensure that you have the following settings:
- Auto Steering: ON
- Control: Joystick
- Auto Accelerate: ON
During race settings, ensure that you have the following configuration:
- Teams: No Teams
- Items: No Items
- COM: No COM
- COM Vehicles: All Vehicles
- Courses: Choose
- Race Count: 48 Races
Pick either Big Blue (Bell Cup) or Mute City (Egg Cup) and start the race. Set both of the controllers down and let the game farm Coins for you on autopilot. Each race takes an average of 2.5 minutes to finish, which means you can complete a cup approximately once every 10 minutes.
Mario Kart 8 is a kart racing game developed by Nintendo and released exclusively for the Wii U in 2014. An enhanced version, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, was released exclusively for the Nintendo Switch in 2017.
