The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom (TOTK) is the highly-anticipated sequel to 2017’s Breath of the Wild (BOTW). TOTK was released as an exclusive for Nintendo Switch in 2023. However, you can play the game on PC.
How to Play Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom on PC
Given that the game is a Nintendo Switch exclusive, the only way to be able to play TOTK on PC is through emulation. The Nintendo Switch has been successfully re-created as a virtual machine on PC by multiple hacking communities.
Emulators
The two most popular emulators for the system include Ryujinx and Yuzu. These tools are able to upscale the performance to as high as 4k/60fps. However, you’ll need a pretty beefy rig to run the game at those settings.
ROM
Emulators only re-create the system to the best of the developer’s ability. You will still need to go and seek out the ROM file containing the game, or rip it from your own purchased cartridge.
Due to the fact that piracy is an unofficial method of playing a game in a way the creators did not intend, and can never truly replace the original experience, we will not be providing links to ROM files. Furthermore, emulated games may crash or have other technical issues related to textures, frame drops, lag, and more.
Many developers also attempt to make their game impossible to play via emulation with Denuvo DRM software or other programs.
Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom PC Release Date
Nintendo only ever releases games on official Nintendo hardware and has never ported any of its major franchises to PC. Without any official announcement, the odds are good that TOTK will not be released to PC.
