Sandfish is found exclusively in the Calico Desert, in a small pond near Skull Cavern. Active hours for Sandfish are between 6:00 AM and 8:00 PM during all seasons.

Calico Desert is found to the northwest of Pelican Town, but can only be accessed once the Bus becomes operational. This is achieved in either one or two different ways.

  • Community Center – Players must purchase all four bundles in the Vault section of the building to unlock the Bus Stop reward. This costs 42,500 Gold.
  • Jojo Community Development Form – Purchase a JojaMart membership for 5,000 Gold from Morris to be able to invest in town improvements. Only one can be purchased per day. The Bus Stop costs 40,000 Gold.

Once the Bus Stop is acquired, players can purchase a ticket for 500 Gold from the nearby stand to travel to Calico Desert. As an alternative, players can utilize a Warp Totem: Desert or the Desert: Obelisk to teleport into the Calico Desert for free.

Magic Bait can be used to catch Sandfish at any time of the day.

Sandfish sells between 75 Gold and 225 Gold, depending on the quality. With the Angler’s Profession, fish will sell for up to 50% more Gold.

Players can use Sandfish as a key ingredient for cooking recipes like Maki Rolls and Sashimi. The fish can also be used to make a Quality Fertilizer.

Sandfish is necessary to complete the Speciality Fish Bundle in the Fish Tank of the Community Center.

When used in a Sewing Machine, Sandfish can create a Fishing Shirt.

Penny loves Sandfish, so consider giving some to her as a gift. It is not an ideal gift for any other resident of Pelican Town.

Sandfish can be placed in a Fish Pond to reproduce every 4 days. The product output includes Roe and Cactus Seeds.
