Ore is necessary to make Ingots, which are used in tons of major crafting recipes.
Where to Find Ore in Palworld
Ore is found all over the in-game world, but there are several locations that make for ideal farming. When you find an Ore deposit, attack it using a Pickaxe. Higher-tier Pickaxes work better, but you can use the starter Pickaxe too.
The first ideal location includes the Desolate Church (63, -416), which is right near a Fast Travel point and is full of Ore deposits.
The second ideal location is found slightly north of the Chillet boss encounter (173, -418).
The third ideal location is on Mount Obsidian (-537, -477), but this requires you to be prepared with high-level Pals and heat-resistant gear. Specifically, it is southwest of the Midpoint fast-travel statue.
Best Pals to Farm Ore in Palworld
To help you farm ore, you will need Pals with a mining skill of level 2. One of the best Pals for this purpose includes Digtoise (found in the Twilight Dunes). The desert requires you to bring heat-resistant gear.
Other Pals like Penking have level 2 mining but their other skills make it distracted and often focus on other tasks instead. This is why it is ideal to use Digtoise.
Palworld Ore Recipes
Ore is not very useful on its own. Rather, it is used to craft Ingots, which require you to build a Primitive Furnace (20x Wood, 50x Stone, 3x Flame Organs) and have a flame Pal (e.g., Foxparks) to light its fire. The furnace lets you craft Ingot (2x Ore).
Ingots are necessary for every type of metal gear and several workbenches. You will also need Ingots to craft Nails. When you get Nails, you can construct a High Quality Workbench (15x Ingots, 50x Wood, 10x Nails) for most of your metal gear.

After you unlock the Weapon Workbench (15x Ingot, 50x Wood, 10x Nails), you will need Ingot for all firearms.
