How to Get Fire Quartz in Stardew Valley
The best location to get Fire Quartz is in levels 80+ of the mines. They will be visibly sitting on the ground, so all you will need to do is pick them up. If the player reaches the bottom of the mines, Fire Quartz may occasionally be found in a Garbage Can.
Between levels 81 and 119 of the mines, you can also get Fire Quartz by collecting Magma Geodes and Omni Geodes. They can be taken to Harvey the Blacksmith to break open for 25 Gold each.
Alternatively, you can find them in Skull Cavern in the Calico Desert. Like the mines, you will be able to pick them up from off the ground.
Within bodies of water, you can find Fire Quartz inside treasure chests while fishing or panning. Ensure you equip the Treasure Hunter tackle on your fishing rod to maximize the chance a chest will spawn.
After you remove the glittering boulder from the river next to the entrance to the mines, you can get Fire Quartz from panning in the river. This requires you to complete the Fish Tank Bundles in the Community Center or buy the “Panning” option from the Joja Community Development Form.
Once panning is available, you will be able to sift through the river using your copper pan anywhere you see shimmering water.
How to Use Fire Quartz in Stardew Valley
Fire Quartz has multiple uses and makes for a good gift for every single resident of Pelican Town except for Leah, Linus, and Pierre.
This mineral is necessary to complete the Geologist’s Bundle in the Boiler Room.
For smelting, Fire Quartz can be combined with Coal in a furnace to produce Refined Quartz.
When used in a Sewing Machine, Fire Quartz can be used to create a Shirt.
There is a “Help Wanted” signpost that randomly appears outside Pierre’s General Store during the Fall and Winter. Delivering a Fire Quartz rewards players with 150 Friendship points and 300 Gold.
Three Fire Quartz may be requested by Lava Eel to expand the Fish Pond from 1 slot to 3 slots.
