The Halo series is getting a brand new tabletop game in 2024, in collaboration with Manic Games.
Currently, the new Halo tabletop game is untitled, but it will feature miniature Spartans. It’s unclear how it will fit into the lore of the larger Halo universe or whether it will incorporate other elements like Covenant races or vehicles.
According to Mantic Games CEO Ronnie Renton, “Having a firefight play out on the table while moving Spartans in and out of cover connects players to the action in a new and special way…We have a thrilling and competitive game, from a passionate team of talented sculptors, artists, and designers who have been building an incredible Halo experience.”
Previews of the Halo tabletop game will start to appear in March, with the full game planned to be released in September.
It’s important to note that this is not the first time Halo has received the tabletop treatment. In fact, the very first experience was Halo ActionClix, which launched just before Halo 3 in 2007. The game included Spartans, vehicles, and Hunters which battled against UNSC forces. Unfortunately, ActionClix was discontinued the following year.
However, Halo as a whole has remained strong since then, with ongoing updates to Halo Infinite and the upcoming second season of the live-action Paramount+ series.
