GameStop, the largest video game retail store in the US, is now opening a chain of retro stores to sell classic titles and systems.
Literally called GameStop Retro, these new stores will sell games and consoles going back to the 8-bit generation. These include (but may not be limited to), the following:
- Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) – 1985
- Sega Genesis – 1989
- Game Boy – 1989
- Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES) – 1991
- Sega Saturn – 1994
- PlayStation 1 (PS1) – 1995
- Nintendo 64 (N64) – 1996
- Sega Dreamcast – 1998
- PlayStation 2 – 2000
- Nintendo GameCube – 2001
- Xbox – 2001
- Game Boy Advance – 2001
- Nintendo DS – 2005
- Nintendo Wii – 2006
- Xbox 360 – 2006
- PlayStation 3 – 2006
- PlayStation Vita – 2012
- Nintendo Wii U – 2012
