Final Fantasy VII Ever Crisis will receive new story chapters on a monthly basis, according to an interview with Motomu Toriyama in Famitsu.
As of the mobile game’s release on September 7, 2023, there are three main story arcs for players to explore. They include:
- Final Fantasy VII
- Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII
- Final Fantasy VII: The First Soldier
This game attempts to provide newcomers and returning fans with a single package of the Compilation of Final Fantasy VII, which also covers stories from games and media outside of the original 1997 PS1 classic.
Details are currently unknown as to how the stories will progress, for how long, and how much of the Compilation will be included. At launch, the game still has yet to cover the events of the 2005 CGI animated film Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children as well as the 2006 PS2 action RPG Dirge of Cerberus: Final Fantasy VII.

The story of Final Fantasy VII: The First Soldier gives headway to the battle-royale mobile title of the same name, which was shut down back in January after less than a year of service.
However, the most exciting detail is that Square Enix has confirmed that Ever Crisis will tie into the events of the highly anticipated Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, part 2 of the incredible Final Fantasy VII Remake (2020).
Final Fantasy VII Ever Crisis is a gacha role-playing game developed by Applibot and Square Enix and initially released worldwide on September 7, 2023. The game is available free to play with optional in-app purchases on iOS and Android devices.
