Final Fantasy VII: Ever Crisis is an upcoming mobile gacha RPG that retells the story of the Compilation of Final Fantasy VII, and it’s slated to release on September 7.
First announced in early 2021 alongside the now-canceled battle royale game Final Fantasy VII: The First Soldier, it’s time for Final Fantasy VII Ever Crisis to take center stage.
The game’s plot will be told in episodic installments, and feature loot boxes as a primary mechanic.
Combat draws from the original title’s Active Time Battle (ATB) system. Similar to Final Fantasy VII Remake, players will be able to freely jump between chapters on a timeline to explore different entries in the series.
What parts of the Compilation will be included?
Final Fantasy VII: Ever Crisis will cover all major events featured in the canon of the Compilation of Final Fantasy VII, the media library that forms all bodies of work in the overall storyline. In total, the compilation includes the following works.
- Before Crisis: Final Fantasy VII
- Dirge of Cerberus: Final Fantasy VII
- Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII
- Final Fantasy VII Remake
- Final Fantasy VII: The First Soldier
- Final Fantasy VII Rebirth
- Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children
- Last Order: Final Fantasy VII
However, Final Fantasy VII: Ever Crisis will provide the “cliff notes” and mainly cover the events of:
- Before Crisis: Final Fantasy VII
- Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII
- Dirge of Cerberus: Final Fantasy VII
- Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children
Is it a paid game?
Final Fantasy VII: Ever Crisis will be free to play but offer gamers the ability to purchase loot boxes with real money that include random selections of costumes and weapons.
