The popular Final Fantasy mobile game, Brave Exvius, will be shutting down services permanently in October 2024.
Square Enix officially announced that Brave Exvius, which was initially released worldwide in 2016, will cease service on October 30.
“Since Final Fantasy Brave Exvius launch on June 30, 2016, we’ve strived to provide an incredible and enjoyable gaming experience for our players every day that could exceed the day before,” Square Enix said in a statement. “However, we’ve come to the conclusion that it would be difficult to continue maintaining the app experience, and to therefore end the app service.”
As of the time of this post, the game has already been pulled from storefronts and bundles. However, those who still have it downloaded can continue playing it until the date of shutdown. In-game events will continue to proceed as usual.
In a partnership with Square Enix and Alim, the developer, Brave Exvius has been a free-to-play Final Fantasy spin-off game with turn-based combat. It has collaborated with several different titles from the mainline franchise, including Final Fantasy VIII and Final Fantasy X.
Other Final Fantasy mobile games that have shut down in recent years include Final Fantasy Dissidia Opera Omnia in February 2024 and Final Fantasy 7: The First Soldier back in October 2023.
