Fast X Might Be the First Film In A Planned Trilogy

The tenth main entry in the classic Fast and Furious series has had a rocky start at the box office, with mixed reviews from critics and users. However, a recent interview with Vin Diesel and Michelle Rodriguez seemingly confirmed that Fast X might be the first film in a planned trilogy.

Given the production schedule of films in the franchise, at a rate of every two years on average since the original movie, The Fast and the Furious (2001), and the fact that F9, the preceding motion picture released in 2021, the chance is good that we’ll see the trilogy finish in 2027 with Part 3.

Still, the potential release of more spin-off films could potentially delay the full release of the Fast X trilogy. A sequel to Hobbs and Shaw (2019), for instance, could set back the conclusion of the trilogy beyond 2028.

Universal, the studio behind Fast X, has already expressed interest in making a sequel out of the events of the tenth film. Not only that, but Vin Diesel already confirmed a sequel is coming, which could very well mean we’re going to get a Part 3.
