In this guide, you will learn how to get into Leyndell, the Royal Capital–a region in Elden Ring.

Unlike many of the areas in the game, Leyndell is not available to all players, and requires a minimum of 2 Great Runes to enter.

Godrick’s Great Rune

We’ll begin with activating Godrick’s Great Rune. To begin, you need to go to the entrance of Stormveil Castle. From here, you need to move towards Limgrave Tower Bridge. When doing so, you can ignore the lion mob you come across.

Once you arrive at the Limgrave Tower Bridge, you need to climb up to Stormhill. Keep moving while avoiding the golems you come across here. As you make your way further ahead, you will arrive at a portal.

Enter the portal to get to the Divine Tower of Limgrave. Once at the Divine Tower of Limgrave, you need to head over to the interaction point. Here, press the relevant buttons on your gaming platform (Triangle on PlayStation, Y on Xbox). Doing so will activate the Great Rune of Godrick.

Rennala’s Great Rune to get into Leyndell, Royal Capital in Elden Ring

To get Rennala’s Great Rune in Elden Ring, you simply need to head to the Grand Library. Since this rune (known as the Great Rune of the Unborn) cannot be activated or equipped, you need to meet Rennala to acquire it.

How to Enter Leyndell, Royal Capital

With both the Great Runes with you, you can now begin your quest to enter Leyndell, the Royal Capital in Elden Ring. Head over to the Site of Grace at the Capital Rampart. Here, you will notice an open entrance to the city.

When heading to the said Site of Grace, make sure to activate Godrick’s Great Rune.

So there you have it. These simple steps are all you need to follow in order to enter Leyndell, Royal Capital in Elden Ring. As you can see, doing so is not too difficult. Just remember to follow all the steps in this guide, and you should be good to go.
