The Keep, introduced in 2014, which was a system that allowed players to carry over their major choices from past entries in the Dragon Age series, leading up to and including Inquisition, will not be supported by Dragon Age: The Veilguard. However, you will still be able to carry over the choices, just in a different way.
According to Corrine Busche, Veilguard’s Game Director, the ability to import your choices is “fully integrated into the character creator this time around.” Furthermore, Busche confirmed that you will be able to customize your Inquisitor if you desire to remake the protagonist from Dragon Age: Inquisition.
“What’s not lost on us is that it’s been 10 years since existing players have played. They might not remember [what they did in previous games],” Busche explains. “They might need that refresher and we don’t want new players to feel like they’re missing out on those decisions. So in the character creator, I like to call it last time on Dragon Age, but you can go into your past adventures and it, actually through tarot cards, tells you what the context was and what decision you want to make.”
BioWare is essentially abandoning the Dragon Age Keep past Inquisition. “The technology is so different and we wanted it to be in the client,” she says.
Busche also confirmed that The Veilguard players will not have to link their accounts for this option, as you will be able to enjoy the experience completely offline. It’s a single-player game with no microtransactions.
