BioWare has recently confirmed that Dragon Age: Dreadwolf, the fourth and latest upcoming installment in its award-winning series of dark-fantasy role-playing games, is now playable “to the very end” as alpha development is complete.

The Canadian developer shared a new post on the company’s official blog to celebrate the milestone. This is the same place where fans were given the definitive name of the upcoming entry back in the early summer.

According to the post, “up to this point, we’ve been working hard on the various parts of the game, but it’s not until the alpha milestone that a game all comes together.”

Continuing with the statement, BioWare said, “now, for the first time, we can experience the entire game, from the opening scenes of the first mission to the very end…we can see, hear, feel, and play everything as a cohesive experience.”

Dreadwolf has been confirmed to be in development from as early as 2017, in which the first drafts of the story were being written with a focus on the character Solas who appeared in Dragon Age: Inquisition (2014).

Fans also received an official teaser trailer at the 2020 Game Awards, along with one for a new Mass Effect game. Although there have been major restructuring efforts inside of the studio, with a changing vision for what the game would become, we now know it’s on its way to ship.

Even without a confirmed release date, analysts still project it is aiming for a launch in Holiday 2023.
