The Valleyverse is the name of the multiplayer function, and it works by connecting every player’s village together in a web of adventures. While not every standard game function is available in multiplayer, it’s still a great way to play with friends.
How to Unlock Multiplayer in Disney Dreamlight Valley
To unlock multiplayer, you will need to raise Vanellope to friendship level 4. This prompts her to start the Valley Visit quest and give you the Valley Visit Station.
Once you are prompted to place the Valley Visit Station, put it anywhere in your village. This completes the quest and you can enable cross-play to invite friends to your village.
How to Invite Friends to Your Valley in Disney Dreamlight Valley
As a host, interact with the Valley Visit Station. This opens up the connection and generates a code you can share with friends. As a visitor, simply access the Multiplayer option from the title screen and enter the code.
After entering the code, the host will receive a notification that a new player is joining. It will likely take up to a few minutes for the other player to join the host valley, so be patient.
To access online features, you will likely need a membership that allows online multiplayer functions, depending on what system you’re playing on.
Up to four players can be active in a world at a time, including the valley. You can only invite up to three friends to your village at once.
Multiplayer Activities in Disney Dreamlight Valley
Although multiplayer is a great option to spend time with friends, you will not be able to do everything you normally can. For example, you cannot talk to villagers, use furniture items, or complete quests. In addition, you cannot trade items from Expansion Passes with players who do not have the Expansion Pass.
However, there are many activities available via multiplayer in Disney Dreamlight Valley. Here is a list.
- Visit Scrooge’s Store. You can bring your visitors to Scrooge’s Store to shop, and all players can purchase items. However, items that visitors purchase will disappear from the store, and you won’t be able to order them from the catalog.
- Visit player homes. You’ve likely put a lot of work into your home decor, so show it off and share the progress with your friends.
- Trade inventory items. While you can’t open chests or gather items other than sticks and flowers, you can exchange items in your inventory by dropping them on the ground.
- Explore the village. You can explore the entirety of Dreamlight Valley, but not any areas included in Expansion Passes. The base game map is yours to roam and play with friends.
- Use Royal Tools. If you love fishing and gardening, now you can do it with friends! Roam the village to remove Night Thorns, harvest crops, and dig for treasures. You can now use all your Royal Tools together.
- Take Selfies. Finally, you can commemorate your co-op adventures with photos! Using your phone in-game, take pictures of the memories you make during Valley Visits.
- Share Touch of Magic Designs. Take your friends to the Boutique with you, where they can collect your designs for clothing and furniture to bring back to their village. Just be sure that you all save before they leave or the designs won’t be carried over!
